My Neighbor Felix

Ever since My Neighbor Felix opened in September, I’ve been dying to go.
Everyone was raving about the hip ambiance, delicious food, and the famous 56 oz margarita and I wanted to see if it all lived up to the hype.

I was finally able to try it out this past weekend and I can tell you all: it lived up to the hype.
While dining out looked a little different due to Denver’s no dine-in COVID law, it was still a great experience, as My Neighbor Felix has extended their outdoor dining into tents on the sidewalks and grass areas surrounding the restaurant.

We sat in one of the tents right next to the heater, which kicked out some major heat, making it feel like summertime even at the end of November. It was just 4 of us – Matthew and I and another couple and we had ample space between us and the other tables, which made us feel comfortable dining in the tent.

For drinks, I had no choice but to order the 56 oz marg to share with Matthew. We got the frozen signature marg during happy hour, so it was only $20 for that huge drank. For food, we ordered the nachos (only $7 on happy hour) – housemade goddess hibiscus chips topped with chili verde picante, smoky black beans, pico de gallo, ranchero cheese, cilantro crema, jalapeno, fresno chiles, cotija sauce, adobo sauce & cilantro – and they were HUGE. While we would have liked for them to have a bit more toppings spread throughout the layers of tasty chips, we were very happy with our order. On top of that, our friends got the chips & salsa trio, the quesadilla, and some tacos on happy hour as well – all looked delicious (highly recommend the mango salsa!).

As for the 56 oz margarita…photos were taken, selfies were snapped (never a good sign), and by the end of the night, Matthew and I amazingly finished the entire thing and we were feeling pretty good afterwards. See the progression below 🙂

My Neighbor Felix was a hit! Despite the no dine-in law, it was a great spot for a Friday night happy hour with friends. We’ll definitely be back for more margs and delicious food. Taco Tuesday, anyone?
